Kia K9 Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged
The 2025 K9 continues to offer a choice between two powerful V6 engines:
- A 3.8-litre naturally aspirated GDI engine generates 311 horsepower and 397 Nm of torque.
- A 3.3-liter turbocharged T-GDI unit produces 365 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can be configured with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It’s worth noting that the larger 5.0-litre V8 engine has been discontinued since the 2021 update.

The 2025 Kia K9 is currently available for order in South Korea. Prices start from 59.33 million won for the base-spec Platinum trim with rear-wheel drive and the 3.8-liter engine.
The range-topping Best Selection II trim with all-wheel drive and the turbocharged 3.3-litre engine come in at 86.85 million won.
While the K9 has seen limited success in the United States, this latest update underscores Kia’s commitment to offering a luxurious and feature-packed sedan in its home market.
